As we walk and drive through our towns and cities we often notice beautiful architecture. Some are modern, new buildings that have been recently built. Some are old and historic.

 

However, there are many buildings, existing and recently constructed, that don’t seem very beautiful, bordering on banal, that go unnoticed.

My goal with the Minimal Architecture series is to show the architectural beauty, often unnoticed in our urban environment, by focusing on the colours and geometric shapes of a detailed portion of a building. By using colour, light, shadow and composition the three-dimensional is transformed into a two-dimensional piece of art.
